Cheryl Warfield, Soprano pays homage to Leontyne Price

Opera legend, Leontyne Price was one of the first African Americans to become a leading artist at the Metropolitan Opera. The Belle Sylvester Memorial Recital Series opener will pay homage to Ms. Price as a Verdian soprano, focusing on her roles in operas in Aida, Il trovatore, and La forza del destino, and will feature a historical narrative intertwined with Verdi's music performed and narrated by Cheryl Warfield, accompanied by pianist Mark Cogley.
